2022 Fiskerton School Report Annual Parish Meeting

The past few months have been quite tricky at the school with the sudden passing of our head teacher, Mrs Rycroft. We will hopefully have a new head teacher in place for the new academic year in September.
Our learning has included learning and performing a traditional May Day dance, which we invited parents to. It was the first time we had invited parents since the pandemic, which was lovely. The whole school went on a visit to Whisby Nature reserve and enjoyed learning outdoors for the day. Our current year 5 and 6 class have been on a residential to Kingswood activity centre, where they have enjoyed climbing, archery, raft building and other fun activities. These came as a timely conclusion to the Year 6 SAT tests, the first ones in a number of years.
The last few weeks will see us all enjoying different sporting events in our sports week – culminating in a jubilee picnic to celebrate the Queen’s 70th year on the throne. I’m sure many of the children will look forward to the celebrations in the village.
July will see a return of our Summer Fayre – we would love more local residents to come and see our school and help raise funds for school equipment. We would really like to expand our garden area and would welcome making connections with keen gardeners. We are aiming to create a sensory pathway and happy garden, where children can sit and contemplate, read or just be.
